Naomi and Matt have impeccable taste. The moment I set foot into their beautiful apartment, which looked like it came from a Restoration Hardware display, I knew it was going to be a great session. To be completely honest, I'm glad I didn't know this beforehand because I would have been very nervous to let them down.
There's always a special moment at every session that defines it. This one came before I even started photographing. As I was doing Naomi's makeup, I saw Matt running around, cleaning the widows, vacuuming around the Christmas tree, ironing, wrapping presents, setting the dining table - all tedious chores that he seems to do instinctively, without hesitation. When I told Naomi how very lucky she is, she whispered to me that Matt even took baby Sage to Target to get decorations for the tree while she was at the nail salon the day before. It warms my heart to see such a great husband and father. I've always believed that actions speak louder than words. And not the loud grandiose type of actions that get showcased on social media, but the day-to-day small gestures of attention and kindness that means the most. What a sweet, sweet family.
I feel honored to have been chosen to be Naomi and Matt's first family photographer with Baby Sage and her furry brother, Dodger. I've got many weaknesses - a big dog with with his little baby sister goes on the top of that list.
